Audio devices - reconnecting USB

If your USB audio devices (headphones or microphones) are not plugged in when you login to X11, or if you unplug them and replug them while you are logged in, it is not possible to access them in the Sound utility.

If this happens to you, you can make these devices available by typing in the following command in a terminal window:

super audio
