Create application-specific login data for IMAP
GWDG IDM portal access and login
The GWDG IDM portal can be accessed via a browser at the address https://idm.gwdg.de. Please select the tab 'Login with Single Sign-on' and log in with your known access data in order to create your personal application-specific access data in the second step.
To access the Academic Cloud service, you must accept the terms of use.
Please save your MFA recovery code or print it out.
Creation of application-specific access data
After logging in and clicking on the profile icon at the top right, you will be given the option to jump to the page for “Application-specific access data”.
You will land on the following page and can now create access data for the respective application.
All you have to do is enter a description and click on “Generate access data” to display the access data. It is also possible to change the access data also possible via this page. To do this, simply set a new password in the overview of already created access data via “Generate new password”.
The generated usernames always follow the scheme “u12345”. This access data can then be used in the respective application for the IMAP interface.
