 +As of Version 0.2 this is not needed anymore. Students should automatically become a member of the module communities for the modules they registered at the universities systems.

 +It is still possible though not recommended, since the username and password can be easily distributed (making the password-protection useless).

 +  * (Re-)Set the permissions for all Filetypes to "Community" only.

 +The old Electures-Portal was completely broken by design. The new one has a clean well-designed architecture (based on the leading enterprise open source portal system) and has less bugs than the old one. It also synchronizes with the main universities systems like the "Vorlesungsverzeichnis" (HIS-LSF) and therefore avoids maintenace nightmares and typo-errors. It is much more flexible from administrative as well as users perspective. It also offers the possiblity for future improvements whereas nobody was able to manage the sourcecode of the old Electures-Portal.
 +===== Many files are missing! / All my directly linked files are not accessible anymore, why? =====
 +For all files that were correctly linked in the old Electures-Portal a redirect is in place. This is not the case for all files that were not in the Electures-Portal Database (i.e. those links that look like [[http://download.informatik.uni-freiburg.de/lectures/some/dir/path/to/my/exercises/foo.pdf]]. If such a File is not available anymore write an E-Mail to [[electures@informatik.uni-freiburg.de]] containing a description of the problem and a link to the missing file. We will then try to find a Solution.

 + Try to access the Module/Files through a VPN tunnel (while not beeing logged in). If this works you are missing the Student role. This role is only granted to students. This role is automatically granted to students who use their account from the local computing centre (LDAP/RZ-Login).
